Tumblr: The only place where I can talk about my period and not get judged.
What’s funny about this is that in Star Trek he’s quoting Sherlock Holmes, but in Sherlock he’s quoting Spock.
Although the original quote was from Sherlock Holmes. It was used in TOS and then in Star Trek (2009) as a reference to SH. Then in Sherlock 2x02, Sherlock says it and John calls him ‘Spock’ as though it’s a reference to Star Trek and Wibbly Wobbly Inception of the quote, yo.
Canonically Spock is a descendant of Sherlock Holmes.
Wait, really? ^^^^
Yep. Star Trek 6 Spock says “An ancestor of mine once said ‘If you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains however improbable must be the truth.”

“A culture fixated on female thinness is not an obsession about female beauty, [it is] an obsession about female obedience.”
Lois Griffin (via fawun)
Understanding this concept is probably the only reason I know longer have weight issues. Instead of thinking that I should be thinner to look nicer, I’ve got it in my head that thinner=more compliant and over my dead body is that ever happening.

The Geek’s Guide to Dating by Eric Smith
This looks super cute! You can preview the first couple of chapters on Amazon to see more but it’s got quirky geek humour, fun illustrations, and addresses some interesting topics like girls not actually being princesses that need saving.
Got this for my sister for Christmas. She’s started high school, and as much as it pains me to think she’ll start dating, I thought I’d give her a head start on dating advice, without the messed up biases in our extended family.

he literally bullshits his way through being a time lord
According to the Doctor Who lore, the Doctor was actually incredibly, incredibly smart. In fact, he was smarter than anyone else in his academy class, but he chose to appear stupider than he really was and often hid his great understanding of the universe behind gobbledygook and technobabble in order to baffle people.
Of course, according to the Lore, the Doctor may actually be on his third set of regenerations, having once served alongside Omega and Rassilon in the reforming of Gallifreyan society and the creation of the Time Lords. It is said that the Doctor and Rassilon had a falling out and The Doctor went rogue, but in order to hide from his old friend turned nemesis, the Doctor stole energy from the Eye of Harmony and restarted his regeneration cycle taking the moniker The Doctor.
Alright, I know way too much Doctor Who trivia.
